Tasks & responsibilities
  • In your new role you will investigate the novel mechanisms of axonal degeneration in retinopathies in rodent and human model systems.
  • You closely interact with project leaders from our RBB (Research Beyond Borders), our CNSDR (Central Neural System Diseases Research) and Ophthalmology Departments, as well as with scientists from Target Discovery Sciences and other areas within Boehringer Ingelheim’s research organization.
  • In addition, you cooperate closely with leading academic groups worldwide.
  • Furthermore, you are part of our global postdoctoral community and have the chance to present your work at the Boehringer Ingelheim Postdoc days.
Requirements
  • PhD in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, pharmacology or related disciplines
  • Experience in axonal degeneration with in-vitro and ex-vivo models
  • Experience in neuroscience / retinal diseases / gene modulation with AAV is preferred
  • Proven capability of handling different in-vitro and in-vivo neuroscientific assays
  • Detail-oriented team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
